Able Seal & Design Inc. (formerly Able O-Rings and Seals) was established in 1972 by David G Hunter who had apprenticed in the tool and dies trade and took that experience into the sealing industry and became a manufacturer and distributor of gaskets, Orings and seals. Able Seal & Design Inc. flourished under his drive and vision. His vision was to be the largest sealing distributor and to supply all facets of industry from automotive to large OEM’s. In 1993 Dave retired and the next generation assumed control and with an aggressive sales approach which allowed the Company to triple their business in the next decade. Able Seal & Design Inc. received their ISO 9001 certification which allows the Company to support the growing and ever changing customer demand with supplying high quality products and service across the country. The Company opened a sales office in Calgary, Alberta in 1999 to help service Western Canada. Able Seal & Design Inc. prides itself with the Canada’s largest inventory and outstanding customer service, which has given them a leading edge in the industry.
 

In 2006 the Company was acquired by Seal & Design Inc., which operates from a state of the art manufacturing facility in Clarence, New York. Able O-Rings and Seals became Able Seal & Design Inc. The merging of the two companies has given Able Seal & Design Inc. customers the benefit of their ISO/TS16949 certification and their 40,000 sq. ft. state of the art production and warehouse facility. To support future development, innovations in manufacturing, investments in technology and product development are guided by their goal of being a leading organization and allow the Company to provide better customer service, control costs and improve operating efficiencies. This acquisition allows Seal & Design Inc. to have a presence in the Canadian marketplace and supports the vision of becoming a “World Class” sealing, Orings and gasket company, as evidenced in the companies products and customer support.
